Bill's first book was a hand-bound artist's book of his smaller prints made in 1966 in graduate school. His first trade paperback was Art of Selling Art, 1987. Using on-demand services, he self-publishes in magazine, comic, paperback, hard-back and eBook formats with the imprint, Perfect Press.

Gaming Rembrandt's Ghost: A MOOC Quest is Bill Ritchie's notes from a MOOC on gamification - a massively open online course in 2012. The course was taught by a business professor at Penn State - a seemingly odd connection since Bill's vision is to make a Printmaking MOOC. This is a daily account of the professor's lectures with marginal notes on how Bill would approach a printmaking MOOC.

EarthSafe 2022: An artist's response to the Union of Concerned Scientists' 1992 Warning to Humanity. After reading the UCS' first 1992 warning, that we had only 30 years to save Earth's sustainability of human and other life, Bill Ritchie made his EarthSafe 2022 mantra the foundation for his work in art, teaching, and business. He began by documenting a structure in this book.

Swipe: A screenplay. Screen play writing is an art form blending images and story telling. Bill wrote the plot for a biopic while working on Halfwood Presses, studying books, learning software and reading screenplays. Vladimir's Story Sketchbook, an interactive, do-your-own illustrations project Bill Ritchie launched in 2017. He invited buyers to illustrate a book of 48, four-line stanzas storyline.
