Comment: We met with the owners of the Hansen Cultural Enterprise Company, Ltd., in San Francisco in 2014 at a vendor and publisher fair. The owners came to our booth with some printmaking material which had been made by a ten-year old on Taiwan. It was to be a demonstration, and they wanted to see if the Mini Etching Press was capable of printing the plate. I rolled ink on it and printed it (below), after which they informed me that this plate was not meant to be printed relief, but rather it was made for intaglio printing. So, I printed it intaglio, too. They bought the Mini Etching Press - at wholesale price - with a Memo of Understanding that their company would endeavor to be importers of our Halfwood presses to make them available on Taiwan. It never happened. Yet.
The image printed relief intended to be
an intaglio plate made on their product they
call, "synthesis plate" being a type of plastic.
