Daniela ordered her DIY WeeWoodie Rembdrandt Press kit in February, 2016.
Two years later she discovered the Halfwood Press and added a previously-owned
Legacy Mini Etching Press, Number 56, to her home studio.

Specifications: Made in 2010. Mini Halfwood Press. Serial No. 60056. Rollers are solid steel, 1.5 x 5.75 inches top and bottom; bed is 1/4 x 6 x 17 inches polycarbonate; overall length is 17.5 inches, width is 9 inches and height is 10 inches. It weighs 12 lbs.. The drive wheel is 8 inches diameter stainless steel. The woods are black walnut base with ipe cladding steel, walnut hood capped with ipe. The instrument box is poplar, baltic birch trimmed in ipe. Included are felts, copper plate, Allen Wrench, DVD and User's Manual (with an excerpt from, Halfwood Press-The Story, now available at www.amazon.com). Note that this book was revised to be A printmaker's Tale, also on amazon.com.
Comment: Barbara Buech was the original owner of Number 56. I met her at a Daniel Smith Store in October of 2009 when I was giving a demonstration, and she ordered a Mini. She worked at that time in linoleum mostly, so for her press she made a chase for herself and came to the Halfwood Press Workshop on Taylor Avenue to try it out. You can view the video of this session, below. Ms. Buech sold the press in 2018 to Daniela Hoffman in California. She requested a certificate of authenticity, which I designed in the manner of my 2018 project in artistscrip and artistscripophily - a fund-raising concept to finance a Northwest Print Center Incubators collective workplace.
