Mini Halfwood Press No. 100

Comment: Joseph called me to say he wanted Number 100 from the 2010 collection. I was surprised because the next press available in the 2010 collection was a number in the 70s of 100 that I would make. He said, "That's ok, I like the number!" When he told me he was the retired police chief in the Chicago area, I suggested we put a facsimile of one of his badges on his press and he agreed. I made a medallion using the design of his badge. Five years later his wife wanted a birthday present - a WeeWoodie Rembrandt Press for Joe.

Specifications: Made in 2011. Mini Halfwood Press. Serial No. 60100. Rollers are 1.5 x 5.75 inches top and bottom. The bed is 1/4 x 6 x 17 inch polycarbonate (the standard); overall length is 17.5 inches; overall width is 9 inches; overall height is 10 inches; weight, 12 lbs.; drive wheel is 8 inches diameter in stainless steel; the woods are American black walnut with a walnut hood, ipe cladding on the steel, purple heart on the hood-ends and also capping the flat top. The instrument box is mahogany and baltic birch trimmed in ipe. Included are felt blankets, copper plate, Allen Wrench, User's Manual, DVD, and customized side medallion adapted from one of Joe's actual police badges.
