Seattle Print Fair 2007 Commemorative

Provenance: Print. 2007. Intaglio. Burnt umber etching ink on white Arches Cover paper. 5 in. wide, 7 in. high. Open edition.

Comment: The 2007 Seattle Print Fair was the second such offered by the International Fine Art Print Dealers Association. It was held at the Seattle Center. On the condition that I do not sell nor advertise my workshop, the officials agreed to let me print and show off the Mini Halfwood Press. I printed both days and gave away an estimated 50 impressions of this print - including one to David Lotz.

About David Lotz: I first met David at the Seattle Print Fair in 2007. For the next two years we had numerous meetings over coffee and in his studio where we discussed ways to market and sell art. We developed a close working relationship as he applied his law, engineering and business experience to find solutions to artists' asset management and legacy transfer. He gave me invaluable - and profitable - advice plus personal favors and assistance. I interrupted our work in 2009 as the Halfwood Press business engulfed me.
