Artist's comment: Warren, who lives in England, sent email expressing interest in a Halfwood Press, but wasn't sure it would fit his needs. When he said he might come to Seattle to try it out, I suggested maybe he'd like try making his own press. From his comments, I felt he qualified to not only carry on his printmaking but also to help in my plan for a network of Halfwood Press Workshops. He became the first person to make his own Halfwood Press, with an eye to starting a workshop outside the US. The next year he began, with his Website.

March 13, 2013 - on Warren's Facebook page, "What to do on a snowy Saturday? Be in the studio of course! Here is a picture of my little creations. In the group of three, the one in the front is freshly made, or dare I say, "hot off the press". At the back is the press I'm taking to Italy for the Design Award. The inspired design and innovation by Bill Ritchieis including a memory stick in the press with loads of useful information."
