Specifications: Made in 2014. Pram Halfwood Press. Serial No. 60116. Specifications: Rollers are 1.5 x 6 and 5.5 inches top and bottom. The bed is 1/4 x 6 x 17.5 inch polycarbonate (the standard) with steel rack; overall length is 17.5 inches; overall width is 9 inches; overall height is 10 inches; weight, about 14 lbs; drive wheel is 8 inches diameter in stainless steel. The bed is rack-driven, approximating a 3:1 mechanical advantage. Wood is solid American black walnut. The pressure screws are linked and synchronized. The press included two etching felts, user's manual, a PressGhost flash drive with USB extension cable for connecting to a computer, the book, "Halfwood Press: The story." As an extra, a chase was included because the owner is a lithographer who might do glass vitreography on the Pram.

About David Williams: David is a professor of art at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He not only teaches printmaking but he also is adviser to the Northern Arizona Printmakers Society. He launched the NAU Art Museum's first print biennial in 2002. This biennial has grown over the years to become a favorite in the community.

Bill Ritchie 's comment: Dave and I met in San Francisco at the Southern Graphics Council conference, and later David sent an email describing his university's plan for outreach programs to high school students. The school also offers Saturday art education experiences, and hopefully that this press will be used in those, too.
