1987 - Summer Wave Square Heads

I had a boxful of ceramic wave square heads (the cross-part, or head, "T" similar to the engineer's T-square). I made cyanotypes using them as photo-blocks in the summer of ‘87. In other works unrelated I used photo negatives of a wave square head and made some photo plate lithographs. The black, lithograph parts were done years before the cyanotype parts came to me. These later treatments were done by brushing on the cyanotype solution and, on the sunny days of summer, I exposed them to the sun and washed and developed them outdoors with a garden hose. These, therefore, are monoprints in lithograph and cyanotype. The colors are black and blue on white. Image original, master print measures 22 1/2" X 13" on 24" X 14 3/4" in Arches white mould-made paper.
