1988 - The Dreamer

In late 1987 C. T. Chew and I were excited about the potential of CD/ROM for art and teaching. We arrived at the idea, Art Student: Everything you need to know. To raise money to undertake research, C. T. came up with the subscription folio of our screen prints, and away we went in pursuit of this dream! The Dreamer was my first offering. It's based on a monochrome image of my profile from my first Apple computer, looking heavenward with my head full of stars. Transferred to a screen we printed it in six-runs in greens and blacks on white. The original image is 17" X 25 1/2" on 22" X 30" Arches paper. It was printed by Michael Peterson. We made - and sold -  60 subscription proofs for the CD/ROM project. We bought new IBM computers fitted with CD/ROM drives, attended workshops and made the beginnings of ArtStudent.

Gajillion Dollar Opportunity:
The Gates Prize Awaits YOU!

To an old physics professor, who thinks he knows better, psychology indicates that an inventor’s psychology is not a pretty picture. However, inventors who are artists have an edge, and this edge will make even that physicist’s on-line museum a success—more so it would be an on-line art museum.
