Professor Ritchie's think-tank studio on the make-believe island
of in his imaginary place which he calls Emeralda

On July 18, 2004, Professor Ritchie was printing the 14th trial proof of the first practice plate, a copper engraving. The studio is cramped at RIISMA (actually in Seattle but he imagines himself in an exotic setting to render his life more interesting). The Century Press was new. Today it is in the collection of John Stinson.

The seventeen proofs are collected in one folio. The fourteenth trial proof - Number 71 - was the last one printed on the Century Halfwood Press - mother of all Halfwoods.
