Bill loves archery, but he loves "artchery" more! Ha ha.

Actually, one of the most influential books Bill read was Zen and the Art of Archery, by Eugen Herrigel. Maybe this influenced Bill's choice of the target image in his work. Who knows?

Stephen Hazel, a friend and mentor of Bill's, once remarked there is a connection between the target image and Bill as being himself the target.
