Caitlin_with_Print Bill Ritchie with card

Caitlin's thank you postcard

Provenance: Print. Postcard. Full color on 4 X 6 in. postcard-weight paper. Limited edition of 50 postcards printed by VistaPrint company.

Comment: Caitlin was a student in 2023 and was to be part of a group going to visit Japan with her teacher. They ran a GoFundMe drive, and Bill Ritchie send funds and a set of 21 hand-printed woodcuts for rewards. The prints were made in the Japanese method from blocks carved by Bill's daughters when he went to Japan in 1976. After Caitlin's successful GoFundMe, Bill created the above thank you postcard for her to use to give to her teacher, classmates, and contributors. Bill made a video, explaining that when he went to Japan, Bud Richardson had a house sale of his art to raise money. He added that their daughters were able to go to Japan, so it seemed like a good idea to help Caitlin, too, after all that people had done for his family.
