Specifications: Made in 2020. Mini Etching Press. Serial No. mep6051. Specifications: Equipped with a 6-inch wide, gear-and-rack-driven, 3/8 thick by 14" long acetal bed with safety stops. Rollers are 2 1/4" diameter polished, unique steel. The pressure screws are linked so they stay in sync. With a mechanical advantage of over 6:1, one can easily print 5 X 7 inch intaglio plates. Made of American black walnut hand-finished in tung oil for a satin luster. Embellished with hand-crafted brass barrel nut fasteners.

Mariner Halfwood Press #120012

Provenance: Sherry bought a Mini Etching Press in 2020 and the Mariner Halfwood Press the next year. She drove up from Bountiful to Seattle in October to pick her new press up at Tom Kughler’s shop. She came to the Mini Art Gallery afterward and this gave us a chance to meet face-to-face. She opened her car trunk to show me her new press and I made a snapshot.

Specifications: Made in 2020. Mariner Halfwood Press. Serial No. 12. Dark American walnut with laminated dark wenge core. Twelve-inch wide bed, 34 inches long, rack driven; synchronous pressure screws. Rollers are 3-inch diameter solid steel, top and bottom. Driving wheel is stainless steel 16-inches diameter. Geared and chain-driven driving the rack on the bed provide a 12:1 mechanical advantage. Included are three felts, adusting Allan wrcnches.
