2010. Galleon Halfwood Press. Serial No. 90003. Specifications: Roller diameter 2 1/4" x 9" long, top and bottom. Bed is 5/16" thick polycarbonate, 9" x 26". The overall length is 27"; overall width is 13 3/4"; overall height is 15". Weight is 50 lbs.; Drive wheel is 12" diameter stainless steel. The bed is rack-driven, approximating a 3:1 mechanical advantage. Woods used are Brazilian ipe, Australian jarrah, and Gaboon ebony. The pressure screws are linked so they are synchronized. The press includes three etching felts.
Artist's comment: Ann contacted me via e-mail in October of '09 and reserved No. 3. She was putting together a new studio. In the following months she sent me cards she printed in relief, some with special papers (see below). She's a member of the Los Angeles Print Society, in which you will find the following: "For as long as I can remember nature has been a primary interest of mine. I was fortunate to grow up in a place where hillsides were open and available. For nearly as long, I have been drawing and painting. Printmaking has captured my complete attention.
