INTERACTIVE PRINTMAKING:
Daniel Smith Etching Ink DVD with Bill Ritchie Pulling Prints
Sun July 26th from 12 to 2 pm
|
(Image of July demo to come)
|
Bill produced a DVD spanning the years he associated himself with Daniel Smith's startup and further development of Daniel Smith Inc. The DVD shows Dan in his basement ink mill at the beginning, and ends with scenes of Dan working on one of his screeprints five years later. You see the two lives of Dan Smith--entrepreneur and artist.
While viewing the DVD live, Bill will be printing a special print, a portrait of Daniel Smith, on Bill's Halfwood Press. It is an interactive display--showing the origins of Daniel Smith's impressive line of art supplies and at the same time, using an etching ink produced in-house.
