Comment: When I was working on my Master's degree in San Jose, I recalled many things about my home, Washington State. This print was my memory of the Saw Tooth mountains in the Cascade Range. I sometimes grew nostalgic and applied my memories while learning new printmaking techniques that propelled me into a lifelong passion for prints.

About Reka Nemet: Reka was working on a doctoral thesis when she applied for and won a grant to spend time in Seattle to learn the basics of hand-engraving on copper. She also served as an intern at Davidson Galleries during her 3- month stay, alternating her time between the Davidson Gallery and Ritchie's Mini Art Gallery.
"52 Artistamps"
Specification: Digital prints, color laser print on standard paper. Stamps vary in size. Produced from the year 2000 to the present, representing one artwork image selected from each year, reproduced and designed for color printing.
Comment: I met Reka through Cecilia Langer, the Brazilian engraver who owns one of the Halfwood Presses. The three of us got together in Portland in 2016 and kept our correspondence alive on the Internet. While Reka was in residence in Seattle, I made a photo collage of her and her work, below.
Composite photograph showing Reka in the background, her plate and a proof, right and
and a photogravure version of the background image, left. Far right, her engraving as an artistamp.
