1989 - Two Dog Coat

This image came from the IBIS Project which happened in the mid-eighties. It was the most powerful computer used by regional artists at that time. I made hundreds of images with the system, and printed many of them on the color inkjet printer--considered state-of-the art in its time. The Two Dog Coat was a study for what became a real coat in 1989, handmade in Kashmir, India, under the direction of C. T. Chew. (This image was the front and Chew's art was the back of the coat). The original image is 15 1/4" X 18". This is the smaller of two versions printed by the late Emeline Mathews. One is now in the collection of Microsoft and another in that of a private patron.

Marvelous Artist Stamp:
"Flight" from 1964

Before he composes his new stamp titled "Flight 1964," the artist comments on the process unfolding before him on his PC. He taps the words of an MIT architecture prof as a template to explain what makes his stamp a cyber art work and an electronic stamp.
