1991 - Target Becoming CD/ROM

One of the last works on paper I created in the 360 Halladay Studio, this drawing is one of those that, to the casual viewer, has an unfinished look about it. That may be because the idea of the CD/ROM and my art was causing me to wonder if I would ever finish anything again in the old sense of the word "finish". After all, I was--and still am--following the locus of beauty, not standing still for a moment and not wanting anything to be "finished." For, after all, what is art but a series of moments on the locus of beauty? The drawing is in graphite on white paper. The original image is 10" X 10" on 14 3/4" X 14 3/4" Rives BFK white, 100% rag paper.

A Born Again Teacher:
Getting it right in the 21st Century

As I read a paragraph from an on-line magazine about the way video game companies use “modders” (gamers who modify the games they buy from the companies) to improve thems, it was so like my past teaching career that I felt I could be born again.

The conscience-event comes into consciousness with an overpowering awe that leaves the mind totally submissive and profoundly reposeful. They are moments when one's career is shaped; generally not many in a lifetime; some never have them. (Gates, P. 239)
